Statement | Domestic Departure was my first solo exhibition and followed a residency in Adelaide, South Australia at JamFactory, from which I have never returned. Shown at Object Gallery in my home town of Sydney the exhibition signalled the start of my practice and the end of my time as a New South Welshman. From the exhibition:

Domestic Departure takes a nostalgic look at travel and the age of industrial production through the rear view mirror of our contemporary domestic spaces. Combining hand-making techniques with computer aided and industrial technology, the exhibition takes a multidisciplinary approach to craft practice. The works incorporate materials such as porcelain, timber, aluminium, silver and stainless steel. The material reflects the dual nature of the exhibition's theme; they are at once precious and utilitarian, industrial and domestic.
